ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Neha Dhupia reveals Parents’ reaction to Pre-Marriage Pregnancy
Neha Dhupia revealed how her parents reacted when she told them she was pregnant before her marriage to Angad Bedi.
The actress spoke about having a “non-linear marriage” and embracing motherhood in quick succession.
On how she broke the news to her parents, Neha said:
“We had a non-linear wedding. We were pregnant before we got married.
“So, when we went and broke the news to my parents, they were like okay, this is great.
“But you have 72 hours before we turn this around.
“Let’s get married. I was given 2 and a half days to then go back to Bombay and get married.”
Neha caused a surprise when she married Angad in a private ceremony in May 2018. She announced her marriage by sharing pictures on Instagram.
It was then revealed that she was pregnant.
She gave birth to Mehr Dhupia Bedi in November 2018. Neha and Angad also have a son together named Guriq Singh Dhupia Bedi, who was born in 2021.
While there were messages of congratulations, Neha admitted that she received a lot of negative comments about her pregnancy due to it happening before her marriage.
On the negativity, Neha said:
“My choices are not hurting anyone so then there’s no harm in doing what you want, what you please and look at where it got us.”
Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi recently celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary.
Sharing a series of unseen pictures on Instagram, Neha wrote:
“Happy anniversary my love… here’s to holding you closer than close and building our little nest together.”
“Here’s to working it out thru thick n thin, thru agreeing n disagreeing, thru loving and laughing and most importantly here’s to keeping it real.
“Half a decade to (infinity sign).”
On the work front, Neha worked on a short film titled Good Morning in 2022.
The film focused on the daily struggles of a working mother.
She previously said: “As a mother of two, I’ve realised that there is never a balance between personal and professional life.
“There are goals that you want to reach, but there are also wishes and ambitions that you want to share with your family.
“And, as much as I’d like to focus on one thing at a time, it is never possible.”
